Over the past few months the DT has been cooking up something fun for our forum members. We have been looking for a way to help bring more inspiration to both the message boards and the gallery. So, after working hard on this over the summer, we are happy to present to you Keeping Memories Alive’s new Blog:

Simple Inspirations

This will be a blog similar to others out there in that it will be challenge based, however, it will also be different in that it’s purpose will simply be to help give everyone inspiration and motivation to scrapbook.

We hope that this blog will help bring the purpose of scrapbooking back to the memories we want to preserve, and we also hope that this blog in some ways makes it easier—(and maybe even faster) for you record the memories you never want to forget.

We feel this hobby has an amazing potential to bring so much joy and perspective, and can draw your family closer together. We hope this blog will help you record what you loved about your children at age two. Or perhaps make you think about what was so wonderful about the family vacation to Disneyland that you wanted to relive it over and over again on the pages of a scrapbook? We want to get back to: "What about today makes you want to scrapbook?" Was it the funny thing your toddler said, or how the smell of the pot roast reminded you of your grandmother?

Basically we want you to be able to turn to this blog for ideas, suggestions, shortcuts, thoughts, journaling prompts, layout ideas, tips, basic composition help, plans for making scrapbooking easier, design ideas, new concepts……..or in other words—Simple Inspiration!

Starting Monday September 17th the design team will begin posting blog challenges every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. The challenges will be based on all different aspects of scrapbooking, but will always be aimed at giving you ideas to jump start your desire to get scrapbooking!

And what is a challenge without prizes?  We are going to be starting out small—but the more people we can get involved with the challenges the more we can grow the prizes!

At the end of the month we will be giving out (for the time being) two $5 gift certificates to the store. The first will be awarded to the forum member who creates the most projects (layouts, mini albums, cards, altered art, home décor, etc.—whatever you want that uses scrapbook supplies) based on the current months challenges to the gallery and then links them to this blog.  The second prize will go to the forum member who’s project best reflects one of the challenges from that month—as selected by the design team.

So........Make sure and check back on Monday to see what the first challenge will be, and be prepared to be inspired :)
